Virtual Volunteering Kits: Equipping Churches and Cross-Cultural Workers
In 2024, Christar, Pioneers and Switchboard received a Missio Nexus Innovation Grant to create two resource kits designed to help churches and cross-cultural workers engage more fully in the Great Commission through virtual volunteering. The organizations combined their expertise in mobilization, technology and global missions to develop and launch these tools.
Virtual Missions Kit
Developed to equip churches, the Virtual Missions Kit helps leaders mobilize their congregations for global missions without the need for travel. With ready-to-use guides, presentation materials and access to the Switchboard skill assessment, the kit removes common barriers to Great Commission participation and makes it simple to launch a virtual missions program.
Ministry Expansion Kit
Designed for cross-cultural workers, the Ministry Expansion Kit helps them clarify needs, connect with virtual volunteers and expand their ministry capacity through the Switchboard platform. It includes step-by-step engagement tools, communication materials and ongoing support to help workers more effectively address challenges and embrace opportunities.
