In September 2019 Christar U.S. became the first organization to receive accreditation from Missio Nexus, the largest association of churches and organizations in North America that focuses on the global Great Commission. This designation is a recognition of commitment to seven standards of well-managed organizations that incorporate best practices, ideas and processes in pursuing the spread of the gospel to the ends of the earth.
We were honored to be invited by Marv Newell, Senior Vice President of Missio Nexus and a member of the Christar U.S. Board of Trustees, to be the first organization to pursue this recognition. Christar underwent the extensive assessment process, involving nearly 100 hours of work, not only to receive accreditation but learn and develop as an organization.
“We continually look for ways to improve what we do,” explains Steve Coffey, director of Christar U.S. “It is an honor to be peer-reviewed! Having leaders from other organizations examine our policies and procedures, our outcomes and strategies, and affirm us is a huge blessing. We want to honor God in what we do and how we do it.”
