How we can help
Some internships we regularly fill are related to global/intercultural studies, education and TESL, but many of our short-term opportunities can be modified to fit specific internship requirements. Contact us for more information at [email protected].
Where to begin
Each student must submit their internship requirements to our mobilization department, and our personnel will work with our local staff and overseas teams to determine if we can meet those stipulations. Applications for internships follow the same process as short-term applications:
- Help us get to know you by filling out a Preliminary Information Form.
- A Christar mentor will be in touch to answer questions and explain the application process.
- Complete the application forms online and request the necessary references. Many college and university degree programs encourage or require internships. Christar provides opportunities for students to fulfill their degree requirements in a way that leaves a lasting spiritual impact on both the student and least-reached communities.
Please keep in mind that the entire process takes about three to four months. Participation in Blaze (our four-day cross-cultural training program in Richardson, Texas) is required for all internships over three weeks.
Christar internships and short-term opportunities function in cooperation with our long-term teams. You’ll work alongside seasoned workers who are already serving in communities. Your time of service contributes to the overarching goal of seeing mature churches sharing the hope of Christ in their own communities. As you are mentored by seasoned workers and gain valuable experience, you can leave a real, lasting impact on communities where Christ isn’t worshiped, yet.
