Guest Bio
Chandler Gilow is a registered nurse and certified lactation specialist and has been in the global worker community for almost nine years. Her family currently lives in East Africa.
Chandler has been a self-described “birth nerd” for longer than she has been a nurse and has always been passionate about empowering families. She and her husband moved to the Middle East in 2016 with their 9-month-old. Nearly two years later, they navigated birth abroad with their second daughter. As a result of this experience, after returning stateside for a season, she started The Global Birth Coach in 2020 to provide the support, community and resources she wishes she had been able to access. Over the last five years, she has been devoted to developing educational content to empower families. Her experiences have also grown a passion for advocating for stronger organizational care plans for families in the perinatal season and for more research to better understand the needs of cross-cultural families.
