An Invitation to Collaboration: Pathways

Prepare up to 80 new workers for cross-cultural service through Christar Training Pathways in 2024!

You can be part of helping a new worker along their way!

Preparing New Workers for Effective Service
As local churches send cross-cultural workers to share the transforming love of God in least-reached communities, Christar comes alongside these men, women and families with specialized training and experience.

Through pre-field equipping pathways, workers learn communication and conflict-resolution principles and examine security and health concerns specific to their intended areas of service. They receive tools to help them build support teams and learn language and culture as they prepare to share the love of Christ in communities where the Church doesn’t yet exist.

$315 provides one worker a weeklong training experience as part of their journey to the field.
Our goal? A total of $25,000 to equip 80 new workers.
Imagine how the gospel can spread to those who need to hear!

Learn More About Christar Pathways

Serving in a cross-cultural setting, far from family and friends, is difficult in many ways—from struggles with language learning and loneliness to cultural norms that stand in opposition to biblical principles. Christar is committed to equipping workers sent by local churches so they are well-prepared to face challenges, serve effectively and thrive in life and ministry.

Our pre-field equipping pathways challenge aspiring cross-cultural workers to mature in their walk with Christ while preparing them for life and ministry in least-reached communities. Through sessions, activities, assessments and coaching, the Christar mobilization and coaching teams invest in them with a long-range view for effective service. New workers practice communication and conflict-resolution principles, examine security and health concerns specific to their intended areas of ministry and learn the importance of sharing their vision with a support team of financial and prayer partners. They also learn language and culture as they prepare to share the love of Christ in communities where the Church doesn’t yet exist and discover how they fit into the larger ministry of the global Body of Christ.

Training new Christar workers isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. In addition to the pre-field pathways required for all workers, we come alongside each person preparing for mid- or long-term service with a tailored personal development plan. We consider each individual’s experience and desired area of service, and we use strategic assessments to help us create an individualized training path. This plan may include learning opportunities offered by other organizations, counseling, Bible training, reading and, at times, apprenticeships, all with the goal of equipping workers to flourish in cross-cultural life and ministry.

Your gift is an investment that helps new workers face challenges and minister effectively among the least-reached.

Participate by Praying:

  • Pray for Christar staff as they endeavor to mobilize and train new cross-cultural workers thoroughly and with excellence.
  • Ask God to give more people who have a passion to serve Him among the least-reached an understanding of how Christar Pathways can help equip them.
  • Pray for wisdom for Christar pre-field coaches as they walk alongside new cross-cultural workers, helping them prepare to thrive in cross-cultural ministry.
