Global English Project

Christar workers began holding summer English classes in a Middle Eastern community in 2007. Their goal was not only to teach a language that many in the area wanted to learn, but also to share the gospel with a people group that’s nearly 100 percent Muslim.

In 2015 these workers opened a school and are now serving over 500 students by offering English classes year round. Through these classes, workers are able to build relationships with least-reached people, many of whom have never heard the gospel. These relationships sometimes lead to Bible studies and, by God’s grace, will lead to fellowships of believers worshiping together.

Your gift to the Global English project will help Christar workers run a language school in a Middle Eastern community, enabling them to build relationships and share the gospel with least-reached people.

Special Needs in the Wake of COVID-19

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the school has been temporarily closed. While the city is locked down, classes cannot be held and the team cannot host summer interns. However, the workers serving through this project are continuing to minister through offering private tutoring and connecting one on one with their students.

Without the income it typically generates through holding classes, the school has several unique and pressing financial needs:

  • $1,950 (six gifts of $325) is needed to cover rent for the building for three months.
  • $1,900 (19 gifts of $100) is needed to continue to pay the salaries of local essential employees for three months.
  • $650 (13 gifts of $50) is needed to cover the cost of utilities.

Your gift to the Global English Project in this unprecedented time will allow Christar workers to continue to minister to their students and help ensure that the school is able to offer classes again once restrictions are lifted.

Participate by Praying for the Global English Project:

  • Praise God for His faithfulness in establishing this initiative as one of the most reputable English schools in its city.
  • Ask God to bring more least-reached people with open hearts to language classes held by Christar workers.
  • Pray that many English students will place their faith in Christ.
  • Ask God to provide the ongoing funds needed to run the Global English Project.
