First- hand account of Typhoon in Mindanao

Y esterday was a good day of hard work. As a church, we helped three families clean their homes. At times we were walking though about six to eight inches of mud. We have a water pump and a sprayer at the school that really helped in the clean-up of three homes. The forth family we tried to help had no home left. It was totally gone. Many people have lost everything. Here at the school the women cooked most of the morning then went to town and handed out food and the clothing that was collected.

It is just unbelievable the destruction and how wide spread it is. I personally saw vehicles with the dead pilled in them. Some bodies are not even being identified. The feeling is that whole families have been lost and no one is left to look. Anyway enough of that you get the picture.

We are fine, tired and getting lots of request for assistance. People need water, food, clothes and help with all the clean up. Pray we have wisdom and maybe strength.

We will be posting more stories from our workers as we receive them. With such devastation the needs are great. A donation of just one hundred dollars will rebuild and equip a home for an entire family! Devastation of this magnitude is crushing for anyone. Your generosity and prayers are greatly appreciated in this time of need. Want to help? You can make a difference by giving to the Philippine Flood Relief Project.
